Jacey's favorite opera is Susannah by Carlisle Floyd, as she can relate to the role of Susannah and her desire to be accepted by her community. She learned "The trees on the mountains" because it resembles a folk song one might sing for comfort.
In middle school, one of the first musicals Jacey fell in love with was Newsies by Alan Menken. She adored the role of Jack Kelly and thought she would never have the opportunity to perform her favorite song, "Sante Fe". This video is from a genderbent recital her voice professor put together that allowed Jacey to perform this iconic piece that influenced her love of music.
In Jacey's Junior year at DePauw, she organized and performed a recital that showcased songs in German, French, Italian, and English that surrounded a night theme. Some notable songs include "An die Musik" by Franz Schubert, "Les papillons" by Ernest Chausson, and "Sull'aria... che soave zeffiretto" from Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
